Where was you grandmother located? Was it Washington county Maine? What year? I may be able to help if you are looking for maria (berry) gael (geel) of East Machias, Maine

I doubt very much that our gaels are related. I don't have access to my files at athe moment, but I can guess at her dates.. My gma was born in 1897. Her father was born around 1860. Maria was his mother, so that would put her around 1830. Her husband was in the ohio infantry during the civil war. I'm guessing that she was from the midwest somewhere, but I'm not sure. I may have something in my notes, but I think I would remember maine. Thanks so much for replying! Barbara

one clue - my grandmother always mentioned being pennsylvania dutch(ie german) - I think it comes from the gael family.
