I keep seeing this being mentioned over
and over again. The Cherokee blood in the
Gadberry line. Does anyone have any proof?
My great-grandmother always mentioned it but
didn't have any real details. I have a good
pedigree going back to the mid 1700's. But I can't
figure out where the ture Cherokee blood comes
from. In my line it was Amanda Cross born in Kentucky
about 1830, she married William Henry Gadberry.

If any one has any details let me know.

Thanks,

Randy Gadberry

Well what I have is a Mary Ann Gadbery married to a man named king which makes her Mary Ann Gadberry King
She is listed on the Guion Miller Rolls 1909.

I have several questions for you concerning your line as My relative was Mary Francis Gadbury married to a Lee Burnett and wish to know what you have.

Many years ago i started researching the family
Gadberry. I have an original famly history
written by a great-aunt of my husbands. She
has passed away. In it she list her Grandfather
as James Albert Gadberry,(Sr.) married to Lela Jane
Markum (also known as Angelleta). She says
Lela Jane Markum was born in Dublin, Ireland
and came to America as a young girl - lived in
Kentucky. Married James A. and moved to Missouri.
She says that James A. (Sr) came to America as
a babe in arms that he was of English/Irish
descent and died at the age of 102 years.

All the researchers I talked to back then were
stuck at that same generation. Not knowing for
sure who the next generation were. Some had
several brothers arriving together. No one
knew exactly how many or ages etc.

We know where James A Gadbery jr was born, died
who he married, all their children. One of which
was this great Aunt of Genes.

I no longer have time to spare for this search like
I did at that time but would love to help if I can.
I gathered quite a bit of different lines of the
family but must warn you since then I've moved 4
times and none of my records have been re-organized.
I used to correspond with Elva Bates and a few
others that were more knowlagable than I. Still,
feel free to drop me a line if you think I may help.

Hello, I just saw your Message on the Gadberry Message Board, and am very interested. My Grandmother, Emily Gadberry (1877)was the daughter of Mary Amelia BAY,(Jan 1-1841 Mercer Co,Mo who Married Harrison Benjamin GADBERRY In Putnam Co.,on on Dec 6, 1859. If any of this comes together PLEASE get back to me! I am looking in earnest for the family of Emily Gadberry, AKA known as Emma. She was later know as Emma Lee, and Emma Jane Lee. Family stories tell that she went to a dance in apx 1903 and never came home. She was found by her father, years later. She had a son, CHARLES WAYNE LEE, (aka Wayne) aparently she went back to her family. Emily/Emma said she married Alex Lee. None of the Gadberrys recall seeing him, she said her husband died of Small Pox before her son was born. That would have been in apx 1903. Their son is my father. We have no way of proving this story, and are hopeing there is a Gadberry out there somewhere who might know something about Emily/Emma GAdberry of Mercer Co, Mo. Please contact Judy Burd at LCR Paints @AOL.COM

Jeanie, are you by chance married to Patricia Gadberry Ryder's son? and reside in California? My Grandmother, Emma/Emily Gadberry Lee, is her "Aunt Em".
If so, I think I live in the same town with you. Judy Burd (760) 949-1900
