You're quite welcome! The GADBERRY's are not in my direct line, so I'm not really researching that family. However, if I run across any other relevant info on them, I'll be glad to send it to you.

Happy hunting!

Hello,
I am part of the Gadberry line, I am the G-Granddaughter to Nimmie (Nemmie, Nime) Mae Gadberry, daughter to Martha Alice Gadberry and Grand daughter to William Henry and Amanda Gadberry and G-Granddaughter to Alfred and Amanda Gadberry. The only thing I have as proof of the Cherokee blood is a census record that I think everyone has. If you have information on anyone, I would love to share with you. Please email me for faster responses.

Hey Randy,

I know this thread is old, but I'm in the same line of Gadberry's also. My grandfather was James Emmitt Gadberry, son of William E Gadberry, son of William H Gadberry and Amanda Elizabeth Anthony, son of Alfred Henry and Amanda Cross.

How far back have you traced our family; is there cherokee blood?

Thanks,
John Gadberry

Hi John (and all) I'm new to Ancestry.com and so excited to see these posts, although many are old. My mother, Leona Gadberry passed away last year at 91. She had been corresponding with an Anita who was one of her cousins. I have some letters from several relatives that talk about Amanda Cross, the trail of tears, etc. I also recently posted a photo of several of the Gadberry brothers with their father, John Daniel Gadberry. Have you found out anything concrete re: Indian ancestry? I'm running into dead ends. my email is: allens02@comcast.net Thanks, Judy

My mother said her grandmother was a Cherokee. In my research so far it looks like Jane Gadberry or Gadbury married a French man named Frank Lawson. It appears her family lived in Illinois then mo. Where she was born, then to Arkansas. She married Frank. They both died in Bell co. As did my mother's mother Annie Bell Lawson. I too am having difficulty with this branch of my family. All others go back to 1700, etc
