Searching for any information about Martha R. Gadbury, b. 1872 in Kansas, d. 1958 in Indiahoma, Oklahoma. Married Daniel W. Miller and had 11 children while living on Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory, Oklahoma: Henry Clay, Maud, Hettie, Lotti, Albert D, Minnie, Roy, Jessie, Gilbert, Ralph, and Arthur.
After Daniels's death, she married again, the second time to John McClung in the Cache/Indiahoma area of Oklahoma.
Martha is at the center of a raging family controversy over part of our Indian heritage. Oral tradition of _some_ of the family have had it that Martha was 1/2 or full blooded Indian. Hettie had no doubt about this, and neither did her sister Minnie. Clay, on the other hand, went to his grave denying any such thing.
I attended a Miller family reunion in the Wichita Mountains in the mid 90s, and when one of the nice white-haired Miller ladies there learned which branch of the family I was from, she smiled and told me "There are more Millers than there are white people." I guess that's what I am trying to document.
Martha was the daughter of Henry George Gadberry, b. 11 Aug 1842 in Jackson, Illinois, and Susan Mary Warren, b. 1844, also in Illinois.
Any information at all about her or her line would be greatly appreciated.
