BURLINGTON, Iowa - Martha Louese Gadbaw, 86, of Burlington, formerly of Wapello, died Friday, March 10, 2000, at the Burlington Medical Center. Services were today at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello. The Rev. David Mixon officiated. Burial was at the Wapello Cemetery. Mrs. Gadbaw was born April 26, 1913, in Louisa County. She married James Elmer Gadbaw on June 12, 1937, in Kahoka, Mo. He died Oct. 8, 1966. She was a homemaker, and worked many years at the Poage Nursing Home and the Wapello Nursing Home in Wapello. She was a member of the West Hill United Methodist Church in Burlington. She devoted her life toward caring for the elderly and spending quality time with her family and their activities. She was known for her cooking, especially apple pies. She was an avid Hawkeye and Cubs fan. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Tipps Williams of West Burlington and Bonnie Kimble of Morning Sun; two sons, Robert Gadbaw of West Burlington and Ronnie Gadbaw of Burlington; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Vern Wilson of Wapello. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three daughters, a granddaughter, a great-grandson, two sisters, and two brothers.
