my wife's ancestors are the Peterborough(UK) Gaches we have the family tree going back to 1793 and are checking one going back to 1575 which was done by a great grandfather some 100 years ago.

Hi, some members of my family spell Gachez with a Z, some spell it with S and some have even taken out the z and s. I understand that Gachez, Gaches, Gache are surnames from somewhere in southern France, but, I've been unable to find anything in the internet that can shed some light about my ancestors. With a z or s I believe that the surname is somehow related.
