He was a captain in the Salvation Army in Ryde Isle of Wight about 1936-37. He left the Salvation Army to become a Baptist minister, and returned to Ryde Isle of Wight, to marry my parents on the 23 February 1939, the newspaper report states " The Rev, Edmund A Gabb, of Aylesham, Canterbury, officiated"; I have a photo of him taken on the day
Find my past newspapers has several reports on him under, Captain Edmund A. [salvation Army], Edmund A. Gabb, Baptist Minister, Rev Edmund Gabb, & Rev. E. A. Gabb who has removed to Southsea, 25 October 1940.
