Hi
I’m researching John and Eleanor GABB [nee BUCKINGHAM] both from Gloucestershire who immigrated to Australia in 1852 and relocated to Geelong Victoria.
Wondering what drew them to move there [John was a painter in the UK and Oz]. I notice a George GABB died in Geelong on 10/03/1850. George was 35 at the time of his death [=bn 1815] with no family details listed.
Why a family relationship is not immediately obvious to John it may indicate what drew him half way around the world - other than poor English weather.
Grateful for any information.
