Iwent to school with Diana in the late 50's early sixties in the Palms, LA area. I lost contact with her many years ago and wondered if she was still in the LA area. She had a sister named Corliss...I received an e-mail from wiseguy12@gateway.net but could not send message to that address...

Yes it is me!

I am also trying to find gabaldons from around Grants, NM. or Albuquerque, N.m.
Have relatives in Alb. Telles Gabaldon around 65 years old and descents of Manuel Gabaldon of Grants, Nm. These are my cousins.
I live in Palm Desert, Ca.

My grandmother was born in New Mexico, I'm not sure what town...possibly Gallup, Raton, Clovis, Las Cruces, Las Vegas, Taos. Her name was Claudia Gabaldon, she married Mike Cruz. Her mother died in childbirth and she was raised with different family members. If she was alive she would be in her early nintys. What nationality is this name? Contact me by email if you have any information. xbirdlady@netzero.net

GABALDON NAME ORIGIN

I am married to a Gabaldon (not my birth name), but I did look up the name in the library records. It's from Spain and has Basque origins, I believe. Gabel is from the same family as Gable, and 'don' is similar to 'dunn', meaning small hill.

My husband's family is from Belen, New Mexico. I recently heard from the author, Diana Gabaldon, whose family is also from there. She figures they are probably 3rd or 4th cousins, since the name isn't that common.
