I am looking for information on the Gaarz or related families. 3 brothers, William, Carl (Charlie), and August Gaarz immigrated from Germany during the late 1800's and early 1900's. August and Charlie settled in Texas and William settled in Chicago, IL. I am looking for info on the William Gaarz family. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks

Gina,
William and Mary Gaarz had 4 or 5 daughters. One daughter, Anna, married Peter Suechting in Germany. They immigrated to the US. Peter was b. 11 March 1873 and d. 17 February 1909 in Texas. They had 3 children Walter b. abt 1902, Hans b. abt 1905 and Anna b. abt 1908. After Peter died, the family moved to Ilinois Could you have a connection to this family?

Yes, I think that this could possibly be a match. In Ottumwa, Iowa. I have some family, that made a family tree all the way back to the 1700's. I can check for more info on some of these names. This is fun and rewarding in the long run when you actually find a real relative. Thank you for the reply.

Gina,
Please let me know if you find a connection with our Suechting. After Peter Suechting died, his widow, Anna, married a man with the surname Abraham. They had a couple of daughters names Louise and Marie. That's about all I know about the family. Maybe I can learn more when I have the opportunity to look at the 1930 census.

Surnames: Gaarz, Kavecky
Gina,

I've just read your post on the Gaarz/Kavecky family line....I'm the g granddaughter of Mary Kavecky b. 1909, who married Richard A. Harris. Her parents were Henry Kavecky b, 1886, and Mary Gaarz b. 1891.

I've been searching for any information on these two families for a very long time. Would love to share what I have with you.

Please write me at the address above.

Thanks....have a wonderful day
