I just started researching the family tree recently. I found out my cousin Andy had done some extensive research. He told me that our branch of the family descends from Johan Fyke. Johan had 7 sons- one of his sons, James, was killed during the Revolutionary War. Somehow, someway Johan was given some land in Robertson County because of James' service to his country. From what I gather from my cousin, Johan was a landholder in North Carolina and did not move to Tennessee, but a couple of his sons and their families did.
