Fyfe, William "Bill"
WILLIAM (BILL) FYFE 80, died peacefully in his sleep at home on February 2, 2005. Pop was greatly loved by his family consisting of; wife of 56 years, Doris Fyfe, who dearly cared for him through many years of his illness. Daughter, Linda Loggins, and son-in-law, Bob Loggins; grandchildren, Brenda Loggins, Annie Loggins, Matt and Jennifer Loggins, Stephanie and Scott Navas, and Becky Loggins; great grandchildren, Connor, Bobbi Ann and Madeline Loggins. Daughter, Nancy Hannigan, and friend Ben Ward; grandchildren, Sean and Emily Hannigan. Son, John Fyfe, and daughter-in- law, Cheryl Fyfe; grandchildren, David and Callen Fyfe; son, James Fyfe, and friend Elaine Yeh, Son, David (Barney) Fyfe, and friend, Kathleen Truitt. Bill served his Country, Community and Church for 60+ years receiving much recognition, awards and two California State Resolutions. Bill was very proud to be an alumni of the University of California, Berkeley receiving AB in Criminology and MA in Education-Administration (Go Bears). For 29 years, Bill was a teacher, coach and an administrator in San Lorenzo Unified School District where he was awarded a Life Membership in the San Lorenzo Council of PTA. Bill's civic activities included: CYO: Past President of the Alameda County League, coached basketball, baseball, and a CCD teacher at St. Felicitas . Past President and coach of Washington Manor Jr. Baseball League as well as the past President of the Washington Manor Home Owners Association. Bill was also the Lieutenant of the San Leandro Police Department's Reserve Program for 14 years. Member of American Legion for 35 yrs. Retired as COL U.S. Army Reserve after 32 years of service including WWII duty on a destroyer in the South Pacific and duty as Military Police during Korean conflict, Graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. Visitation will be at St. Felicitas Church on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. A Vigil service will follow at 5 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Felicitas Catholic Church, 1662 Manor Blvd., San Leandro Followed by refreshments. Arrangements under the direction of Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
