Fyans DNA

We have started the process of identifying our Fyans family DNA markers. I am of the opinion that most of the different spellings of Fyans/Fyan/Fines and even Fagan may all be from the same ancient family. I hope this study will take us one step closer to the linking of the families. Let me know if you are interested in becoming part of this study. I believe you need to be or know of a direct male line Fyans etc.

I just found an article which covers the property owned by the Dublin Fyan's. It mentions many of the other names that appear to be connected. You can find it at
http://www.finnstown-hotel.ie/history-of-finnstown-country-h...
If anyone finds a connection here, please let me know.
Thanks, Diane

The Sorenson DNA database has begun to release some of it's results. Since I already had some results I entered the information and had quite a few matches. The one I was most interested in, was one to a known relative who took part in the Sorenson Test. They are still taking samples by mail at no charge. They are located at http://smgf.org
