I have got the family history bug and the following is an extract from an e-mail my aunt sent me - do any of the names mean anything to anyone? I have already found that Thomas and Elspeth had 9 children - Aleaxnder was one of them (from the LDS IGI):
"The Fyalls did originate from St. Monans (Fife) where I found many tombstones in a church overlooking the sea.. Thomas Fyall (Fial) died 21.7.85. He married Elspeth Peattie who died l.4.81 My g. grandfather
Alexander (13.9.44 -1920 aged 73). He was married to Margaret Gilbertson then to Marjory Lyall. He came to North Shields to take the first steam trawler out of the Tyne. My grandfather was Thomas Andrew 14.7.83 dying in 1918 aged 45. He married Thomason Miller who was born in 1877 and
died 25.7.07 aged 30)"
Thomas Andrew was my grandmother's father.
