Matthew and Josiah Fuller in Amenia

Classification: Query
Surnames: Fuller, Covee, Covey, Hedger.
In the list I presented for the Fullers, Matthew Fuller is in Amenia 1763 through 1767. Does anyone know who he is? He arrived in Amenia in 1763, with Benjamin Covee, living near the Hedger's. Josiah, I believe may be his son and does not appear until 1765, when at the age of 21, he could own land. Thus, Josiah may have been born about 1744. If not, he may be Matthew's brother. They are the only two Fuller's who appear in Amenia. Benjamin is the only Covey to appear in Amenia. His family and the Hedger's move to Northeast, six miles north, by 1775.

Their presence in Amenia and subsequently Northeast, makes me wonder if John Fuller is actually the son of the Matthew listed by most Fuller Researchers, of if this is the same Matthew. Could he be a missed son of the Samuell/Cornelius group?

The Covee's/Covey's become important, as Hannah Fuller, sister of Nelson and daughter of John Fuller of Northeast, Dutchess and Livingston/Ancram, Columbia, married Hiram Covey, grandson of Benjamin Covey and great grandson of Benjamin and Abigail Covee of Middlesex, Massachusetts.

The Hedger's are important as Elizabeth (Betsey) Hedger married Benjamin Covey, son of Benjamin and grandson of Benjamin and Abigail. From 1763 in Amenia, through 1830's, the Hedger's and Covey's are inseparable.

If I know more about where Matthew and Josiah came from, may be able to find more information on Benjamin Covee and where the family actually originated from.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Karen
