I have a Fugard in one of my lines:
Louise M. Mason, daughter of Ransom & Elizabeth Danskin Mason, born 2 Jun 1868 near Marengo, Iowa Co. IA. married Noble J. Fugard on 6 June 1886. His name was originally Border, being son of John Border, but taken in by neighbors, the Fugard family after his mother, Clara Tindall Border, burned to death and his father left Jasper Co. IA. Not being formally adopted, he changed his name to Fugard when he became of age. He is buried with Elizabeth in the Silent City Cemetery, Kellogg, Jasper Co IA.
