The Fublers in my family are all from Bermuda. I researched based on your request and have not been able to find Fublers originating from anywhere other than Bermuda.
My searches were for; etymology, surname etymology, surname meanings, and straight "Fubler" searches on
http://www.google.com and
http://www.ellisislandrecords.org/. After all of these searches, I've still not found the meaning of the name "Fubler".
My mother's Bermudian cousin, Marilyn Simmons has a great Bermudian geneology website at
http://www.josephsimmons.com.
The oldest Fubler I have found anywhere is Elizabeth Fubler, Birth : 1808 , Death : 20 May 1889 Sandys, Bermuda.
The first Fubler to arrive at Ellis Island was Charles Fubler who came over on the ship named Orinoco from Hamilton, Bermuda September 19, 1892.
There are several Fubler's in my family in Bermuda. So, if you have Fublers in your family too, we're probably related.
