Their son was George Ferdinand Wihelm Friis born 1835 who married Helene Hardt born 1834 and their son was Gerhard August Friis born 1873 who married Clara Zothner. Their son was Walter Gerhard Friis who married Marie Wilhemine Andersdotterson. they are my husband's paternal grandparents. He was born in Hamburg and his mother still lives there. I cannot trace this Friis family any further back than Georg Hansen Friis born in Kopenhagen. They came from Denmark through Schleswig-Holstein north of Hamburg (where most remain today, but Georg Hansen went further south to Mulheim an der Ruhr where he married C.
