Our Friedenthals came from "Wolichek", Russia in the early 1900's. Those immigrating to NY include Yankel (immi. 1908), Alte (1911) and their children Jossef, David, Mosche, Ita, Gitse, Feige, and Ruchel (1911).

I'm also looking for any relatives of August Thomas Friedenthal originally from / born in Russia, US naturalized 1895, lived in Boston, MA as well as New York. This is my first attempt to find anyone possibly related or know of ATF, he is my grandfather. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

My father, Leon A. Friedenthal, died Thanksgiving Day, 2007. He was the son of Alex and Betty (Bela/Beulah/Rebecca) Friedenthal. Leon and his father Alex and both of Leon's sisters were born in NYC.

I kept my "maiden" name. My sons' have both the Friedenthal name and their father's family name, hyphenated, but we all live in MA now.

I, too, am a Friedenthal, descended from my grandfather, Louis Friedenthal, who was born and lived in New York. With my grandparents all passed on, I know next to nothing about my heritage, and I was wondering if there were any other Friedenthals in the New York area (my father, Martin, and his brother, Edward, both now live on Long Island) who might have any connections.

I have one FRIEDENTHAL, Henry Isaac abt. 1870 in Thibodeaux, LA who had a brother named Jonas. I have no information on Jonas however I do have more information on Henry's family.

Please look on my german homepage for this town, maybe some of your ancestors come from. Here lives a famous family (named Friedenthal) on a Rittergut (manor, named Friedenthal), later the small town nearby is named Friedenthal-Giesmannsdorf (before: only Giesmannsdorf). Karl Rudolf Friedenthal was Landwirtschaftsminister, Secretary of Agriculture.

San Francisco - Berlin

Dorothea Friedenthal was born 1845 in Berlin, married Adolph Shirek in San Francisco (d. 1921) and had 9 kids. Cecelia Shirek also married Dorothea Friedenthal's brother in 1891 in San Francisco - Max Friedenthal b.1856 d.1921. I have photos of these people.

My Great Grandfather was FRIEDENTHAL, Henry Issac b.~1870 in Thibodeaux, Louisiana. m. to HOLMAN OR HELLMAN, Anita Winifred b. ~1872 in Sydney Austrialia. They were living in Skagway, Alaska when my Grandmother FRIEDENTHAL, Sarah Berwand was born in 1901. Have no other information on Henry or Anita. Please reply

Dr. Harold Levy is married to Betty Friedenthal. Betty is first cousin to my father Robert L. Friedenthal. Betty's father was Charles and mother was Bess. Caroline Friedenthal (maiden name) is currently living in Shreveport. Sybil Friedenthal who is another sister lives in Houston?? Jane Friedenthal, another sister lives or lived in Camarillo Ca.

Hi,
I live in Italy, and as far as I know, a brother of my grand-grand father Herman (Armin in Hungarian, who later became chief Rabbi in Milan-Italy) flee to US in the early '900. His name was again Gabor.
He was a merchant of grain (or something like that). Their father (my grand-grand-grand father) was named Refael and dead in Hungary when he was almost 110, at the beginning of 900.
Please let me know if you or some of your relatives do remember any connection !

I am part of a very small community of Friedenthals in South Africa. My farther Louis, Frazer Friedenthal is one of five sons and that is basically the extend of the Friedenthal community in South Africa. Of course, they had children and grandchildren, but not many. I am very interested to know when the Friedenthal family came to South Africa and from where.

Reserarching descendants of FRIEDENTHAL, Isaac b. abt. 1823, married to LOBENSTEIN, Sarah b. 22 MAY 1837. Betty, Sybil, Caroline and Jane were all great grandaughters of my 2nd Great Grandfather Isaac. I would be interested in any information you have!
