I am searching for information on the Family name of Frick who lived in Evansville IN. My grandfather's name was Frank John Frick, they always called him Pop; my fathers name was Frank Raymond Frick. I believe my great grandfather was named Peter, and was a blacksmith? He died of oral cancer after a tooth extraction. All I know is from what my grandfather (Pop) told me when I was a little boy. My grandmother's name was Ada (maiden name; Taylor?) There are relatives of Taylor and Parker. Names I remember are: Jackie Parker, Red Taylor, Sport Parker. My greatgranfather Peter(?) and his wife came from Germany, and settled around Evansville around the Civil war. My dad's aunt Kate once owned a tavern called The Black Cat Inn in Evansville. My grandfather (Pop) once told me that our name was originally spelled Fricke, but because of mispronounciation he his dad dropped the "e." I only have a small child's memory, so I realize I'm not much help. I believe that there was some kind of falling out between my grandfather and his siblings. I think his brother(s) were named Peter and Nathan. They may have moved to Texas. I think I remember something about Pop being involved with bootleggers and he may have made stills for them as he owned a radiator shop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Frank Frick
