Hilma and august were my grandparents. My mother, Gladys, was the youngest of 8 children. My mother was the only one of their children born in the United States. She was born in 1926 and died in 1985. Hilma was my Nanny for years, from the time I was 4 or 5 til I was 15 I think. Hilma died in 1971 or 72. August died when my mom was about 17 or 18. The Fribergs moved from Sweden to Irvington on the Hudson, NY, before my mom was born. August came here first and Nanny and my aunts and uncles came later by ship.
