I see you were looking for some more information. I decided to do some digging in the Drouin Records. I found record of 12 other children that Antoine Frechette and Felicite Charette had together.

As far as I can tell many of their baptisms and marriages took place in the Saint-Leon-Le-Grand parish of Maskinongé region in Quebec.

To figure this it out I browsed some of the public trees and then searched the Drouin Records here on Ancestry.com to validate that persons existence and this is what I came up with. I hope this helps you out.

Felicite Frechette married Honore Lemaitre on 06 Mar 1839, Saint-Léon-le-Grand, Maskinongé, Quebec, Canada. Her parents are Antoine Frechette and Felicite Charette. His parents are Joseph Lemaitre and Elizabeth Landry.

Hello, I'm researching my genealogy in the Frechette family. My 5th great grandfather was Honore Auger Lema Tre, and Miss. Felicite Frechette b date May 15, 1817 was my 5th great grandmother. I'm looking for any information on either side. So many families intertwining, i'm gettin whiplash... Any assistance would be grateful!

My 2nd Great Grandfather Camille Laporte had 3 Wives. His first was Marie Roseanne (Roseanna) Frechette, his second was Roseanna's sister Marie-Cordelie and the third Eugenie Charest. I am looking for more information about the Frechette family its ancestry and my extended family. If anyone out there can shed some light or put me on the right path that would be great :-)

Cordelie and Roseanna parents were Joseph Frechette and Mathilde Maillette-Mayette. Joseph and Mathilde were married 12 Feb 1866 at Saint-Zéphirin-de-Courval, Yamaska. This Frechette line goes back to Etienne Freschet and Marie Belin. Need more info contact me at michealf9@centurylink.net

I'm trying to find out what happened to my mother-in-laws father, Fortunat Telesphore Frechette. He was born 2/20/1903 in St. Julien, Wolfestown, Quebec, Canada to Telesphore & Melina (Rouleau) Frechette. I've seen a lot of record that have his birth year as 1900 but I have the birth records and the date I indicate is correct. He married Marie Anna Marcoux on 7/19/1921 also in St. Julien. They came to the US and lived in Lowell & Dracut, MA. They had 5 children,including my mother-in-law, from 1922-1933. The last record I have of him is in the 1930 census living in Dracut, MA with his family listed as Fred Frichit. His wife died in 1936 and as far as my mother-in-law knows he was gone by then. I guess he took off and left the family. All 5 children were taken in and raised by a neighbor. My mother-in-law never saw or heard from her father again.
I have been searching everywhere for him and I cannot find anything. I'm hoping someone here might know something of him, possibly a death date & location.

I cancelled my subscription but I was searching in Public Trees and found reference to a Frechette GedCom that included a Hannah Sutherland married to an Aaron Hudson. Would really appreciate a lookup in this gedcom for an email address so that I could contact the person who published this gedcom. Aaron and Hannah had a son Louis or Lewis (after Hannah father) and I haven't been able to find out when and where Louis died. Louis had a sister Addie G. who married a Granville Clark. Hope someone out there can help. Thanks so much....

Hello ???? Our Ancestors were: Pierre FRICHET, Francois FRESCHET & Jacques FRICHET. In addition: Jean-Baptiste SECHERET changed his name to FRECHETTE, some descendants of Jean COTE changed their names to FRECHETTE when their mother remarried, and a HYVON changed his name to FRECHETTE.

The Les Descendants des Frechette Inc. have published a book "Dictionnaire Genealogique des Frechette d'Amerique"

This book may be purchased from them. It is in French. They have a web site. My grandmother was Malvina Frechette d. 1872 Montreal. I don't read French well.

Hi! I have Frechette/Frishettes in my family and have found some info on early ancestors. Re the meaning of the name, what I have found is that Frichet, the original family name, comes from the word friche which means the owner of a piece of land en friche, or lying fallow.
The Frechette ancestors came to New France (Quebec) from France. There were 3 men that came and all the Frechettes in Canada are desended from them. I would be happy to send you what info I have if you are interested. I will give you my email address and you can contact me with yours and I will send along what I have. It would be great if we were connected but probably not.

My Frechette ancestor was also an explorer. I have been researching the name and what i have found is that the French Canadian spelling of French Fréchet, a habitational name from places in Haute Garonne and Hautes Pyrénées, so named from Gascon dialect frèche, herèche ‘ash tree’ + the diminutive ending -et. It is interesting that the name changed in the late 1700's from Hivon or Yvon to Frechette. I would love to know why. Someone suggested that Hivon and Frechette had the same root meaning so the 'dit' or 'also known as' may explain why the name changed

hello my name is Karol and my grandmother's maiden name was Freschette(at least that's how they spelled it).She was born in North Dakota but her father was born in Woonsocket,Rhode Island.His name was Beloni( Joseph Louis ) Freschette and he was my great grandfather.My great great grandfather was called Alfred here in the USA but I think his real given name was Gedeon and was to have been born in Quebec,Canada and came to the USA through St Alban's ( Vermont?) in the 1860's or 1870's.

I am inquiring about a post you wrote in 2001 about your first cousin Richard Frechette.

My name is Linda (Frechette) and I believe I may be related to this Richard Frechette you mentioned.
Unfortunately my father, Roland Frechette, disconnected myself and my siblings from all family when were young and it has always been a mystery to me, but I did run into a Christine at work at one time and we verified that we were related, as I think 2nd or 3rd cousins. Her dad's name is Richard.
We've since lost touch but I would love to find my true roots and also reconnect with her.
We became true friends right from the start (before we found the connection also) but were both going through some turbulence and I'd like to relocate her.

Another common denominator to my family history would be the Vermette family, however I think that connection may be too current to be of knowledge to this level of ancestry.
I recall we had relatives named Millie (I can not recall her full first name and that may have just been a knickname), Wilfred, Stella and Lester.

Does any of this sound familiar?

I ran across this post when looking up the meaning of my last name.
I AM from a Frechette family from Fall River, MA area and welcome any contact from whomever thinks we may be related as I was disconnected to my roots on the Frechette side by my father when my siblings and I were young but do have some information I can also share.

Hi, I am at a brickwall with my Frechette family. I have a great grandfather that was born in Fall River MA. His name was Joseph Isaie Frechette born 5 March 1884. Son of Isaie Frechette and Marie Blanchette. The mother went by many names and have a lot of info on her. The father on the other hand is not accounted for after the birth of his son. Was also supposed to have fathered another child in 1886 but no proof of Minnie's parentage with lack of proof on records. 1900 CT census has his wife and children listed but according to the census, Isaie is deceased. We knew Betty. Her last name was Burgess. Jeanne, my Mother and I had lunch with Betty at her home in Flint many years ago.

She married Jeremie (Remi) Cloutier in Saint Hyacinthe on 06 July 1858

I have trace her up to Manville, Lincoln, Rhode Island, in 1885. Do you have her death date?

I am not a Frechette, but I was reading these threads about the nun in your genealogy and I was wondering if you could describe the clothing the nun is wearing in the photo. I have a photograph of a woman in Quebec from about the same time period as your photo & I'm wondering if this woman was a nun. She isn't wearing a habit or veil but a rounded cap, so to speak.

Also, does anyone know how to trace someone who was in the priesthood in Quebec, but left it?
