I am seeking information on an ancestor - Hugh Fraser, known as the weaver and his wife Sophie MacPherson. Hugh's records indicate that he was from the Kiltarlity area of Inverness-Shire (a few miles west of Inverness). I am trying to find any information on Hugh's and/or his wife Sophie's parents and on their marriage. Also an information on some of the folks mentioned beloy would be appreciated.

As a matter of reference, I have been able to establish my family line back to Hugh Fraser (1740-1826) and Sophie MacPherson (1743-1800), both of whom died in McLellan's Brook, Pictou, Nova Scotia and are buried in the Pioneer Cemetery (PN05) in New Glasgow. They arrived in Nova Scotia in 1773 aboard the Hector with their daughter Mary (b.1765, m. 1796 to Duncan Cameron). There was another son, John J. (1766-1850) who immigrated to NS after the 1773 Hector sailing. John J. was married in 1790 to Janet Murray (1775-1792) of Merigomish and then to Kathrine ? (1776-1823). Hugh & Sophie also has a son in Pictou county named Alexander (1774-1829) who married Isabella Carmichael.
