FRASER is the surname of my husband's birth mother. He received some new info this week about her family. Would you please let me know if this family info rings any bells with any relatives of yours?
Fraser family that were from Saskatchewan. My husband was given up for adoption in April 1961. In Saskatchewan, Social Services handles the adoption files. Birth mother was born in 1937 and worked as a retail cashier. She was single and 23 when my husband was born at University Hospital in Saskatoon. His father listed as Melvin Johnson. The information shows that her parents made her give him up for adoption. She had 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Her father was born in 1900 or 1901 and died before September 1987. He is listed as retired farmer. Her mother was born 1910 or 11 and died in 1942 or 43 of a kidney infection and subsequent heart attack at 32 years old. Oldest sister born 1927 or 28 + married to a truck driver at that time. Second sister born 1930 or 31 + married to a farmer at that time. Third sister born 1932 or 33 + married to a warehouse foreman at that time. Fourth sister born 1934 or 35 + married to a section foreman for CNR. Brother born 1936 + had 2 years of engineering and was a draftsman and surveyor for the Department of Agriculture. My husband's birth mother states she was born in 1937. Finished her grade 12 by the age of 16. Hospital record states she had another son in 1959 that she kept and that my husband looked like him. Social Services have told my husband that his birth mother had another son that was born about 1967. Her youngest brother born in 1943 + he was finishing his grade 12 at the time. My husband's birth name that his mother gave his was KELLY DEAN FRASER. My husband has been searching for many years. Thanks. Cathy
