Group Ordering of Frederick Fraley DAR documentation

Hello all,

I am going to order copies of documentation that the DAR holds for Frederick Fraley. I do not know what the documentation consists of exactly but it will be whatever was submitted by others to prove both their lineage from him and his military association.

The cost is $30.00. Does anyone want to split the cost? The final cost will be determined by the number of people involved and whether copies are made instead of electronic copies. Depending on the number of pages, other means of making copies may be used that may add to the cost. That will be determined later.

If interested, e-mail me stating simply that you are interested. Nothing more. Once the replies stop coming in, I'll contact all interested parties by one bulk e-mail with an estimate of each person's cost.

If you have questions, e-mail me.

Lorrie

Hello all,

Two document searchs are available: (1)supporting documents and (2)member's applications. I think the search we need is for the supporting documents used by the members when they applied for membership and not the appliations, themselves. I don't know that their applications will have any helpful genealogical information but since I have never seen one, I dont' know. If someone does know, please speak up. Otherwise, I am going to order the suporting documents.

The applications can be ordered. The charge is $10.00 per application. Currently there are 17 members so the cost would be $170.00 for all of them.

Here is the cost breakdown for the supporting documents search.

1_$40.00/hr for non-member document search
2_first 10 copies free, $0.30/ page afterwards
3_min 1 hr to max 4 hrs
4_$2.00 shipping
5_currently only hardcopies available
6_turnaround time 4-6 wks once request received

To start the search, min $40.00 required to be sent with request. If the search requires more time, I will be contacted and if approval is given, then the search will continue. Additional time and copies will be billed and mailed with the documents.

If the search should require the max of 4 hrs, the cost could be $160.00 plus copies plus shipping. 100 copies would cost $30.00. I don't expect the cost to be that high but it could.

If you change your mind and do not want to participate in the group search, e-mail me. This will help when calcualting the final cost per person.

I will prepare the letter of request and check tonight to be mailed tomorrow. If you have experience with the DAR and have some words of advice for me before I send the letter, please contact me.

If I left something out of this post or you have questions, e-mail me.

Lorrie

Hello all,

The letter of request was mailed today. Now we wait. Once the documents are received, they will be scanned. Someone has kindly volunteered to do this. I'll keep you posted.
