Elizabeth Rose Fraley was born February 13, 1892, and departed this life December 8, 1972, being 79 years, 10 months, and two days old. She was the daughter of the late Jeff and Laura Flannery Rose of Elliott County in which she was born and raised.
On May 30, 1914 she was united in marriage to George W. Fraley and they became the parents of four sons and five daughters who, with her husband, survive.
Several years ago, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, was baptisted and united with the Enterprise Baptist Church at Bruin, KY. During a long illness, she endured her suffering with faith and courage which substained her to the end. In death she achieved her greatest victory, "Precious in the sight of the Lord, is the death of saints."
Lizzie, as she was affectionatley called, was friendly, kind, and gently. Few people possessed her patience and gentleness. She was a faithful and devoted wife for 58 years of marriage. She was a loving mother, a kind and obliging neighbor.
Those of her family left to mourn her passing but who will cherish forever her memory are her husband, G. W. Fraley, and nine children: Volney of Ashland, KY., Eugene of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, Jeff of Webbville, KY., Raymond of Bruin, KY.; Mrs. Ruby Brickey of Columbus, OH., Mrs. Geneva Baugess and Mrs. Imogene Johnson, both of Michigan, Juanitia Johnson and Helen Evans both of Bruin, KY.; twenty grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jobe and Thomas Rose both of Ashland, KY., and three sisters, Allie Mauck of Ashland, KY., Rosa Treadway of Middletown, OH., and Sarah Greene of Bruin, and a host of relatives and friends.
