I'm just beginning research into this family, so please excuse if I'm asking "dumb" questions. I have Elizabeth FRAKES, b. 1823 in Kentucky, m. Daniel JOHNSON and lived in Vigo County, Indiana. I think her father is John McVey FRAKES. (From Find-a-Grave)

When I started searching, I found not only FRAKES but also FRIGGS. I'm wondering how Friggs became Frakes and when...were there always Friggs and Frakes or were they all Friggs first?
