My ggggrandmother was Catherine A. Foster, b 1813 and d 1912 in Columbus, Indiana. She was married in 1834 to Jonathan Jarman Brooks, b 1815 in Ohio and d 1903 in Columbus, Indiana.

In her obituary, Catherine was quoted as saying that her father, John Foster, had served during the Revolutionary War in Pennsylvania and had seen George Washington.

Catherine and Jonathan Brooks lived in Philadelphia until 1852 when they moved to Indiana.
