Joseph was born ca 1845, Ohio Co. Kentucky. Enlisted at age of 17 with his father,David and brother Abraham. Joseph was discharges 4/27/1863 and enkisted again on 3/4/1864. Later discharged from a injury to the knee. Joseph and Elizabeth married 12/1873. Had 7 children, Mary Caroline Ford (1875-1955),Samuel H. Ford (1877-1954),James B. Ford (1880-1936),John H. Ford (1883-1931), Maude B. Ford(Stafford)(1886-1969), Walter Jay Ford(1889-1890), and Nelia J. Ford (1890-1970 or 71) Joseph & Elizabeth moved to Indian Territory around 1890. Settling a Choska, a trading post near Muskogee, Creek Nation.
