Earl C. Forbes
1909-2006
Earl Clay Forbes, 96, died April 4, at United Medical Center-West.
He was born July 12, 1909, in Downs, Ill. He attended school there and high school
in Bloomington, Ill.
He was a switchman and brakeman for the Union Pacific Railroad, retiring in 1974
after 34 years of service.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Shirley, Ill., and a life member of
the Elks Lodge No. 660, Cheyenne Lodge NO. 1 A.F. & A.M., United Transportation
Union and AARP.
He is survived by grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; one stepdaughter; his parents; and three
brothers.
Cremation has taken place at Schrader's Sunset Park Crematory and private family
services will be held.
