I am researching another branch of the Foode family. They also originated in Middleton but my particular ancestors moved to Rugby in Warwickshire rather than Leicestershire. My grandmothers maiden name was Foode but was always pronounced food. It is certainly an unusual name and back in 1800's the only ones seem to be around the same Northants/Leicester area so guess all the same family.
