I am traveling to Ireland in a week--on a tour, but spending extra time in Dublin and a day in Galway. I would really love to connect with some of my Folan-Foley relatives. I have photos of St. Enda's in Spiddal, where Martin Folan is buried. I'm planning to go there, as well as hoping to view the site of the old Folan homestead looking at Galway Bay. (Does anybody know how I can find that?--quickly. :) Also, it looks like other relatives have contacted people named Enda Folan, Father Kyne, and Aidan Folan, and Jean Folan-Curran (in Barna?) to make contacts. If anyone has contact info on any of those people, please let me know.
I'm a descendant of James Foley (m to Catherine Kneeland), who is the brother of Thomas Foley (m to Margaret Connolly) and John Foley (m to Sarah Kyne). After leaving County Galway they settled in Crawford County, Wisconsin. My great grandfather was Patrick Matthew Foley (m Mary Ann Foley), and my grandmother was Bridget Delia Foley (m to Chris Garvey). Through John (Sarah Kyne) Foley (married in Moycullen Church)I am related to Martin Folan, who was born in Park, Spiddal. Please contact me if you have any info, as soon as possible!
