Andrew Fleming, a cotton hand loom weaver, was born in Bathgate, West Lothian, Scotland on 16 Feb 1805, christened 3 Mar 1805. He married Jean (or Jane) Learmonth on 25 Mar 1842 and had at least eleven children with her, all born in Bathgate. Children include Elizabeth 1843, Alexander 1844, child with unknown name, Margaret 1847, Jean 1849, Barbara 1851, child with unknown name, John 1855, Christina 1850, James 1860, and Andrew 1869.
Andrew had been married previously, wife's name unknown, and had at least three children by this marriage including Marion 1830, Ann 1832 and Isabella 1838.
