I looking for Fleming families who were part of a large Presbyterian group who came in from Northern Ireland and settled in Chester Co. MD. Some other names in group were Hanna, Black, Boggs, Ash, Davidson, Sadler, Mackie, and many others from Tyrone Co NI. These families later in 1767 moved down to SC and started a new church at York SC.
Trying to sort out the different FLEMINGS and get the original place of origin. Anyone with FLEMINGS in PA in these early years please contact me by email.

I am researching this group of Flemings too. I am interested in a group that left MD and went to GA in late 1700's. Contact me at my email and I think I can help you.

Sarah,

Can you send me what you have on the Flemings and the Mackies coming to America? My group of Flemings and Mackies were part of this group. They went from MD to SC, then to GA and finally MS. Siblings went to AL from SC. Some went from MD to ? and ended up in KY and OH. I am part of a Fleming genetic study and it proves we are closely related.

I am just getting started and what I have is Clarence Fleming was born in Williamsport 1868 to John wesley Fleming born Clinton Pa 1845 and Katherine or Kate Wasser born wutemberg Germany 1846. Johns parents were Issac Fleming born 1817 in Skircoat, Yorkshire, England and Margaret Stradley born McHenry township, Pa 1821. Her parents were Shadrach Stradley and Elizabeth Simcox. And that is all I have. My father used to tell me that his family was from Scotland. he passed when i was 17 and his father 4 months before him and his mother in 1974 but we had not seen or heard from her since 1956. So I have so very little seeking a whole lot more. Thank you for what you sent.

Linda,

Thanks for your response. I have traced my Fleming line back to MD in 1700's. A group of our family went your direction as well but I don't have the connections, sorry.

O.K. John. If you have any names I may find in my records you cansend them. I have wondered if a John, or Samuel or James was connected to our line. We do know they were Co Tyrone NI. The extended families they married were from NI too. Will look in records for you as I can. '
Thanks, Sarah

My relatives were James Fleming and Margaret McDonald Fleming, children Robert, Samuel Barkley, James, Polly and Juliette, all born in Scotland, buried near Pittsburgh, PA. Probably did not come to PA until the later part of the 1700's. But we do have extensive family history for Indiana County, PA.

John wesley Fleming was my GG Grandfather. His father was Issac Fleming and mother was Margret Ann Stradley. I would like very much to hear from you and willing to exchange info so that I may learn more about my family history.
