Hi Nick- You and I have already made contact through genes reunited.
It seems on this occassion we have enlightened each other!
I wonder why all the bios on Fred state that he and Eva never had children?
Doeas anyone know anything about Fred's father? Do you thnk Fred's father knew he wa a father? I wondered if he had goneon his merry way before Alice found out that she was pregnant?
My great grandafather is William Henry Fleet , my grandad Alfred Fleet- I have not yet been able to find out if my grandad in fact had any siblings, nor who his Mum was. I do know that Great grandad although born in Liverpool, married in Cleobury Mortimer, Shropshire.
Did you know that the headstone that was erected for Fred in 1993 (afer all those years in a 'paupers' grave) was from Titanic Historical Society, Indian Orchard, Masachussetts? Soemone ther must have known about Alice being Fred's mum nece the Masachussets connection.
So Fred must have always been on Alice's mind if she gave Dorothy the middle name of Frederica. I feel for Alice- she must have beem a very scared vulnerable young woman.
Wer have still not yet figured out where Fred and Alice's branches sit on our tree but other rels (since deceased have told us all the way thorugh that we are related just not how!) Do you have any info on Alice's parents?
I see from my research that it appears Alice came back to Uk and settled in Burnely as a Mill worker- her death is registerd in the Burnely register. She was about 85 when she died.
Do you know when Dorothy and Michael married and where/ Did they have any children.
You ans I MUST be relaed somehow and had I been born a boy I was going to be caleed Simon Nicholas Fleet!
