I'm seeking more detailed info on my great Grandfather, Almond W Fleet, born in Maine, USA, 1866. I am new to the research process, but have plumbed the depths here. Census listings have him as "W" for "white," however I know for a fact that he was Native American. It is possible that he was adopted. He haled from Mount Desert Island, Maine and was probably either born there, or taken there from Massachusetts. If this rings a bell with anyone, I would so appreciate your repsonse. Thanks very much!
