Flack Death Certificates & Photos

I am new to family history research. However, I became aware very soon that there seems to be no place, or method, for Flack researchers to share information with each other. For example, I have several death certificates and photos of Flacks that I would be willing to copy and share with other researchers. Obviously, I would expect the same in return. That way, I wouldn't have to pay for the certificate or waste time in finding them. I would simply scan what I have and email them. The same is true of photos. Is this a new idea? Or, has someone already put that idea into action? Or...are family history researchers a bit on the selfish side and not wanting to share their "treasures" with others?

Roger, I have some photos of the Flack cemetery in Scioto County, Ohio. I am willing to share with anyone that asks, just beware I took quite a few pics while I was there. Somehow I have some in color and some in black and white. I have only a few obituaries of Flacks directly related to me. Unfortunately, I do not have much else. It would be so wonderful if we had one huge website devoted to the Flack line where everyone could post pics, documents, info or whatever else is pertinent to our research. If there is such a place I have totally missed it!

Roger (and all Flack Researchers)

I run 2 websites (www.jamesflack.com and www.flackgenealogy.co.uk) where I try to put all the Flack information I can find on the one database.

The 1st website (my personal one) currently has over 36,000 Flacks and relations in the database.
The 2nd website being run as a 'Flack - One name Study' website (registered with the Guild of One Name studies)

Both websites are now capable of displaying pictures and documents too and If anyone wants to add their information or pictures to the database then please contact me (email from either website).

Best wishes

Hello Stephanie,

I had in mind an FTP website of some sort. I tried to email you to discuss this privately, but the mail was returned. Please email me.

Roger

I sent out scanned copies of 5 death certificates to some people who responded that they would like to share documents and photos. Did you receive the documents?

I'm still searching for someone, anyone, who is willing to do a one-for-one trade on Flack death certificates and photos by email. I had a couple of replies to my last message, but found none who were willing to actually send certificates on an equal basis. I sent out five certificates each to nearly all those who responded, I received none. That was a couple of weeks ago. I was hoping for a more "speedy" exchange. To be totally honest...one person did thank me for the certificates.

Roger

I may have replied in an eaerlier post, but there is a Flack message board at the website www.flackgenealogy.co.uk and the lady who co-runs the site with me is a registered member of the 'Guild of One-name-studies'. There is a huge Flack database onsite and the lady genealogist (Denise) has a huge collection of Flack records she is willing to share with anyone who asks.

I also have some Flack documents and photos at www.jamesflack.com - again - I'm willng to share with anyone who asks.

I'm also obviously always looking for new flack families to add the the searchable database - it benefits every researcher and of course its all free.

I realize this thread is old but I wanted to be sure you aware of the "Pennsylvania, Death Certificates, 1906-1924" files now available on ancestry.com. It includes copies of the actual death certificates with all of the really good info that is so hard to find especially for PA families. I just did a quick search on the database and it came up with over 5600 records for "Flack". It includes deaths from all across the state. Good luck!

Hi Beth
Researching Walter Thomas and coming up blank. One record indicates him coming from Swansea, Wales and another indicates England.
One record shows Kate Thomas as head of household with a daughter Clara? But can't find their dad ( great great grandfather ). Any suggestions?
