My maternal grandfather was a George Washington Flaacke of Jersey City, NJ. I have quite a bit of information on the family. Are you looking for Flaackes in NJ? Thanks Lynne Bricklry

I have Flaackes from NY & NJ in my family tree. . .I wonder if we could be related? Would you like to share info? Do you have the little red book by Frances Flaacke Donaldson? It's called The Lockman and Flaacke Families of Early New York, published in 1965. All I know about my family comes from that book. I hope there might be a connection to yours.

Hi, Have a reprint of that book from John Flaacke in Florida. Cannot find the link to that book in my family tree in Newark, but must be there as the name in rather unusual. Family lore has my great-grandfather with an uncle in N.Y.C. I have the list of names from the Jersey City and N.Y.C. directories circa 1890 and a list of Lutheran church records (St.Matthews, N.Y.C.) 1834 to 1854. Will do more research after return from vacation 6/8.

Probably a stretch, but does a Josepha/Josefa/other spellings FLAK show up anywhere. She was born around 1855, married Jan Dorsz/Spelling?, immigrated in 1884, and died in Buffalo 1897. Her death cert. says father is Kasper, mother is Gertrude. No idea if they ever immigrated. Anything? I have lots on her chilcren. Thank you

The only Gertrude in my known Flaacke family was Edna Gertrude Flaacke, born October 11, 1891 to Henry Flaacke and Elizabeth Schwartz. This family originated in Hanover, Germany. . .what nationality were your Flaackes?
|
Our Josefa/Josepa was born approx 1855, imigrated to US 1884, and already married to Jan Dorsz/variety of spellings). Census records says husband (whom she married before immigration) and child as German/Polish. Her death record says Polish and her Parents are listed as Polish, Kasper and Gertrude. Interestingly those two names never show up again down the line in our family.

Does the book have any info on a Hermanus Flaake whose father is Coonradt Aaron Flaake (Sept 6, 1713-May 4, 1789), of Athens, Greene County, N. Y.,
