I have a little red book entitled "The Lockman and Flaacke Families of Early New York" and it does just mention Hermanus and names his children. If you'd like more info, email me directly, and I'll be happy to share it with you.

I recived a copy of that book from a John Flaacke in Tampa, Fl. It doesn't cover the John Flaacke I was looking for, but there must be a thread there somewhere. I just haven't devoted the time I should to tie the knot together. Good luck. Carole

Hi, I have a Henrietta Flaacke in my tree, my great-grandmother. According to the 1901 census she was born in London but I can find no trace of her birth, or marriage to my grandfather, Francis Smith, also born in London. She was born 1851-1852. I have no idea where the name originally comes from. My mum says she always thought it was German & that they had relatives visit when she was small who she thinks were called the Von Ackies(no idea of correct spelling). Seem to be at a complete dead-end. Can anybody help?

Just had a son I named after my grandmother's brother, Henry "Ace" Flaacke. Have been looking up information on him and his family. Edith Wangler Flaacke (my Grandmother) and Henry Flaacke were children to Edward W. Flaacke of Jersey City, NJ. Any relation...additional info?
