Looking for the doctor who delivered me
I am looking for information about a physician named Dr. Fjelde who practiced in Fargo, ND and who delivered me at home on Feb 2, 1940. He is certainly deceased by now but perhaps there may be someone who would know if Dr. Fjelde's medical practice records are available somewhere.

Are you still searchiung? Why do you want this information?

Re: Looking for the doctor who delivered me
Yes, I am still looking for information. The reason is, I was born at home and my birth was not recorded. This is now causing problems for me with social security, because verification of date of birth is essential for establishing benefits. Anything you could tell me would be appreciated.

Re: Looking for the doctor who delivered me
Dr. Fjelde is indeed dead, having died in 1952. His practice was acquired by Dr. William Schneider, who is also dead. You might check with Cass county officials re: birth record if you haven't already (just a hunch; I cannot tell you the whereabouts of Dr. Fjelde's records).

Re: Looking for the doctor who delivered me
Well, thank you for your assistance. Cass County has no records of births. I've spent 3 years building a case to prove I exist! But I appreciate your response. By coincidence, I was a high school classmate of Marcia Fjelde, who is the daughter of Dr. Fjelde. When I saw her at the last class reunion she was unable to provide any suggestions either. The search goes on.

Re: Looking for the doctor who delivered me
I wish we could have done more. I am a bit puzzled why a home birth has meant no record. That hardly sounds like Dr. Fjelde. You may have guessed, I am related. He was my grandfather. I wish you well.
