Hi, I have quite a bit of information thanks
to a friend in Athlone, taking me back to
around 1790. Genealogy is:
Patrick Finron/Catherine Hughes - 1790's
Michael Finneran/Mary Heslin - 1820's
Thomas Finneran/Mary Dolan - 1840's
James Finneran/Bridget Mullen(ins) - 1870's
The above were all in Irleand, oldest to newest. James Bridget emigrated.
Thomas Finneran/Elizabeth Lauman - 1890's
George Finneran/Peggy Boushell - 1920's
(my parents)

My great-grandfather James, had 3 brothers
Edward, Michael, and Thomas. I'm fairly sure
Thomas stayed in Ireland. I believe Edward
and Michael also emigrated. One probably
to the Boston area (Milton, Mass), the
other possibly to New Orleans.
The name Finneran was spelled many different
ways in history, including Finron, Fineran,
and Finnan. Seems to have settled on the
current form around the 1840's.
If anyone knows of any connection to Edward
or Michael Finneran, I'd love to hear from
you.
Thanks,
Brian Finneran
