I'm researching the family of Thomas Brown, born circa 1869-1871 in New York City (most likely in Brooklyn) and deceased in 1952 in Brooklyn. On his SSN application, Thomas lists his father's name as Peter Brown, and his mother's name as Mary Finnley.

Has anyone come across records for a Mary Finnley/Finley/Finlay married to a Peter Brown, likely in Brooklyn or perhaps another part of NYC in the mid- to late-1800s?

I'm having some trouble tracing this family back and would be interested in any leads anyone might have to suggest!
