I am the son of John Fijalkowski, but use the name Fialkowski. My father was from Plock...still have relatives in that area..cousins. All I know of my father is there was two other brothers..Walter from Detroit, Michigan...sons Chester and Edward..they changed name to Fields...My father's younger brother never came to states from Poland...Teofil Fijalkowski. Have been told there were several children in my father's family..but, do not know names...Grandmother was Josefa Sowinski Fijalkowski...Grandfather was Jan Fijalkowski..Stories have it that several young men came thru Canada/ jumped ship and worked their way to Detroit, Mi. probably around 1907-1909. My father married Wanda Przybylowski at Sweetest Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Detroit..April 30, 1912. There is a Adam Fijalkowski as a witness..brother? cousin? Looking forward to having help in tracing my family TREE..thanks, John Fialkowski,Jr.

I am still trying to trace my ancestry. I do have some sites you could use on your search. E-mail me if you would like some info on that. Thanks, Peggy Ann PS. He settled in Muskegon, Mich. But had children in N.J., Penn., and Michigan. And by the way my Father Adam will be 85 years old in October!!

Hi Carly, I as well am a descendent of the Fialkowski family in the same area of Poland. you say Lodz is your area and my family is from the Plock, Nowa Wies area just north of you. My grandfather was Frank Fialkowski born in 1877 in Poland and came to New York in 1899. We may be related. I am kind of at a standstill in my search. E-mail me if you wish and maybe compare notes. Thanks, Peggy Ann

My maternal grandfathers name was Phillip Fialkowski and his fathers name was Michael. They were from Pennsylvania and moved to the Chicago area at the turn of the century.. From where they were before that< I do not know. Maybe you can help me. My mom doesnt seem to remember if Michael had any brothers or sisters. But Michael's childrens' names are John (married Rose), Tony (married Helen), Phillip (married Mary) and Sophie married a man by the last name of Wolfe.. . Phillip had 4 children but only 2 are still alive. Diane (watson) in Florida and Phyllis (Anderson) in Nevada. Elizebeth and Robert have passed on. I am trying to put together a family history for my children. I hope to get some information from anyone who can provide it. I may also be interested in getting the family crest. I read almost all of these messages and I found them very interesting. Please respond. Thanks!
