Hi, i'm just trying to start a family tree and i noticed that you said family could be from Indiana and i think some of mine were from around that area but not sure. I do know they were from around Louisville, Ky. and i was wondering if any of your family was.

Thank you
Brenda Fewell

Fewells from In. or Louisville

To Brenda Fewell Murphy We obviously have the same name--mine from marriage to Dennis Fewell. My husband was born in Louisville, but was raised in Scottsburg, In. which is not very far. He believes a lot of the Fewells came from Jefferson Co. In. You may want to begin your search there. That is what Dennis is trying to do. Thank you, Brenda H. Fewell

I found John Macklin Fewell and his brother William Henry Fewell in the census some men were asked where they were from and didn't always put the name of the state they were born but sometimes put the state they were last from. John said he was from Mo. found other info that they may have been reared in Little Rock Arkansas. by the 1870 census they were living in Texas in Bell Co., then Bosque Co.,Hamilton Co. and Erath Co. all these counties are pretty close to each other. In fact John Macklin and William Henry and some of their children are buried in Hico Cemetery in Texas. ..You mentioned something about KY in my search found some Fewells in the Missiouri census for 1850 that had a James M. Fewell (61) farmer from KY; and a Hamilton Fewell age 33 was a farmer from KY had children Susannah(20); Eliza (12); Alice (10); Madison (18); Hamilton(7); Oliver (5) and D....(3). Don't know if these Fewells are related to mine or not. I have checked several Census Missouri, Ohio,Tn,Ill etc. I am trying to find out if John Macklin and William Henry Fewell had any brothers or sisters and what their parents names are but haven't found the link yet. Oh I also found a James Fewell (42)in the 1850 Indiana Census that said he was from Ky; he had wife Sarah (43) children Willis (18); Bennet (13) Joshua (10); James (8); Marion (5); Nathaniel (3); Sarah (11?) and Sarah Fewell (63) Va.so James mother. Maybe some of this may help if not. Any names or locations especially in Texas if I can help let me know. Cause I have found some links to some Fewell families thru some of the Census in Texas. Any other info you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for your email. Right now anything is possible that some Fewells could have been in Ky. All I have right now is John Macklin Fewell and William Henry Fewell who are brothers but I don't know if they had anyother siblings or who their parents are. In one census they mention they are from Indiana, and the other mentioned Missouri. So don't know yet do you have any names or dates? email me at tavalon@yahoo.com and send me your email address as it doesn't seem to appear on replies. Thanks

My husband, Roy Fewell and his brother Clif and sister Velma were born to Wylie Clifton Fewell in Harrisburg Arkansas. We know nothing about his father who died in 1961 or 62. Could this be a relative of yours?
