Several people have been looking for the founders of my
Fetterly line: Philip Fetterly m. Anna Margaretha Schumacher abt 1750 in NY. I found a listing for the above couple on a website called http:\\www.ancenstralthings.com (I think). I also remember seeing an original copy of a Schenectady Dutch Reformed Church record that listed a similar couple: Philip Feterly m. Maria Schoein. Germans frequently added "in" to the last name of the women. This would mean that perhaps Maria/Margarita's last name was really "Schoe" or "Schu".

I am wondering if anybody else has encountered the mentioned records. I believe these are all the same couple. Someone may have misspelled "Fetter" as "Felter" in the above church records. If this is true, then part of the Philip Fetterly m. Anna Margaretha Schumacher might be solved.

I would love to here from other researchers if they think my guesses might be correct.
