Ok, I'm still looking for infomation on Joe FERGUSON from Wayne County, West Virginia.

Joe FERGUSON born in Wayne County, West Virginia had a daughter, Sophia, with Nancy FINLEY born November 15, 1854 in Kentucky and died December 22, 1957 in Logan County, West Virginia. At the time of Nancy's death she was the widow of William THORNHILL. I do not know if Joe and Nancy ever married. I have not found a marriage record for Joe and Nancy.

I found a Joe Ferguson on the 1900 Stonewall, Wayne County, WV census listed as born abt. 1868, married for 6 years to Ester; children listed as Lieurissa July 1894, Virginia Jan. 1897 and Bertha Dec. 1899. I found a Wayne County marriage record for Joe Ferguson and Ester THOMAS October 28, 1893.

Then I find 1910 Union, Wayne County, WV census listing Joe as born abt. 1868 married for the 3rd time to Lucinda. Children listed are Lula M. b. 1896, Virginia b. 1897, Bertha b. 1899, Jennings b. 1904 and Ruby b. 1908. So, I'm thinking this has to be the same Joe that I found on the 1900 census.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has any information on Joe and Ester and/or Joe and Lucinda. I'd like to know if Ester's Joe is also Lucinda's Joe.

Now, I'm thinking Joe is listed as having been married 3 times on the 1910 census. Maybe Nancy was his first wife, Ester his second and Lucinda his third.

A little info on Nancy FINLEY:
Nancy was the daughter of Samuel FINLEY born March 10, 1830 in Wythe County, VA; died April 13, 1901 in Wayne County, WV and Mary MICHAELS born abt. 1830 in Tennessee.

Nancy had a daughter named Sarah Jane born Feb. 20, 1884 in Wayne County, WV and died Feb. 05, 1977 in Mountain Mannor Nursing Home, Pikeville, Pike County, Kentucky. Sarah's father is listed as Andy PERRY on her her death certificate. Sarah married William M. Green/e.
Nancy also had a daughter named Elizabeth but I don't know if she was the daughter of Andy Perry of Joe Ferguson.
Nancy also had a daughter with her last husband, William THORNHILL, her name was Gertrude THORNHILL born Jan. 07, 1902 in Wayne County, WV and died Apr. 1979 in Logan County, WV. GErtrude married Boyd BAISDEN.

Family stories tell me that Nancy had a son named Kie/Kia/Kiah FERGUSON, a nickname for Hezikiah (?)
