I believe I may be able to assist you. I represent the family of Mary Katrina Closs whom married John Featherly. I have posted pic's of them via "Find A Grave" for the state of New York in Wayne County. Your citation may be located in the book "The History of Wayne County"
I also have this same paperwork.
May I assist you further in some other paperwork?

Hello Linda,

I believe we are related. I descend from John Closs, Sr. 1748-1831 Canajoharie, NY and settled in Lyons, NY circa 1810. John's sister, Mary Katrina Closs married John Featherly in German Flats, NY 1789, shortly before making way to Lyons with the Stansell family. John & Mary buried York Settlement Cemetery.
Huron, Wayne, NY.

Vedder/Veeder were Dutch versions of the German "Vetter", meaning a distant male relative, but not the father. There appear to be at least 4 different families of Fetterly/Fetherly/Featherly in Schoharie/Mohawk/Hudson Valley areas of NY: those descended from (1) Johannis Fetterly/Vetterly of German Flats, (2) Henrich/Henry Vatter/Vetter (maybe a brother of #1) who was killed at the battle of Oriskany during the Revolution, (3) my ancestor - Philip Fetter/Vetter/Fetterly, (4) and those that descend from Lucas Fader/Vedder (a Loyalist during the Revolution). There is some conjecture that #1 and #2 are brothers. Philip Fetterly was born around the time of #1 and #2, but I've seen no connection. #4, Lucas Fader, was also around the ages of #1-#3. Interesting.

William Featherly, 1880 Census age 29, was living in Everett, Newaygo Co., Michigan, with wife Ella, age 28; son John O. Feathery, age 3;daughter Minerva Feathery, age 1. Does anyone have the maiden name of wife Ella, born in OH? Marriage / Death / Burial information?

The name was spelled Feathery in the 1880 Census, but I am wondering if the name was spelled Featherly throughout their lives?

Some Featherly's followed the Great Lakes around westwardly, marrying into families with Native American bloodlines. At this time, am primarily interested in the NY bloodline. Have lost citation credit for the following quote: "John Featherly, along with brother-in-law William Stansell, and Nicholas Stansell families moved from the Mohawk Valley region of NY state. They were the pioneers of the Lyons region, for a total of twelve persons in all. They built log huts. He sold his farm to Daniel Westfall and moved to Rose, where he died in 1843".

I am trying to trace a Mary I. Feather born in 1860 in Genoa, Wisconsin. She married Benjamin H. Hartley. I know nothing beyond Mary. Any help?
