I am trying to trace my dad's father and his fanily. My grandad was John Patrick or Patrick John Fay b March 1924 Loughgall Amargh. He came to England from Belfast 16th July 1945, lived in London for a year or two and then in the midlands (Rugby) where he died in 1999. After he left Ireland he never spoke to any of his family again, but apparently there were 11 kids altogether. No one knows why this was and we have no details or names of any of the Fay family. Can anyone help? Thanks Emma

I too have had no luck tracing my grandfather (known as John) Patrick John Fay's family. He was b.March 1924 in Loughgall, son of Annie Mcgowan and .... Fay. However that is all I know as he came to England in 1947/8 and had no contact with his family since. My dad seems to think he was one of 9, one of whom may have been called Denise who emigrated to canada. The surname does not appear to be that common in the area, but there have been changes to the spelling and can be found as Fahey, Faye. Good luck, I hope you find a link somewhere!
