Hello,

Where did John Fay live?

If you have any leads for me I'd like to have them!!!!!
Margaret Faye was born in NY in 1868 according to her obituary. Her death certificate spells her maiden name as Fay and lists her father as John Fay born in Ireland. Mother is listed as unknown. (Ogden IA census of 1900 lists New York as her birth location and that of her mother) Sometime between her birth in Dec of 1869 and 1886 she rode the orphan train to Iowa where she was reared by the Spain family and married Bernard Lentz in 1886. Margaret does not show up in the 1870 or 1880 Clinton county, Iowa census. So she probably did not live with the Spains very long.

A woman by the name of Anne Fay was listed on a newspaper account as dying in 1884 in NY the widow of the late John Malone.

Deaths week ending July, 1884
Anne Fay relict of late John Malone (Fay?) died on the corner of Morton and
Gwich street (New York) July 18,1884. She was a native of Ennis county Clare
(Ireland ?)
oclc#01642943
call number ny 01New York 93-31984

A ships manifest lists a John Fay as a passenger on the ship Omega in 1847.
I cannot verify Margaret's connection to any of these three people, perhaps you can use the information on your Fay tree.
Any information or direction you could give me would be appreciated. I would like to correspond even if we are not related, we might be able to help each other!

Don, I'm trying to find my father's mum, Bridget Fay. Bridget married Patrick Martin. She had a sister who came to NZ in 1925 (the year my father, John was born) to work as a maid on a farm. Only other sibling name I know is George, but there were others. Any clues?
