My great-grandmother, Julia Bolger Brophy's mother was a Farrell. Her brother, Thomas Farrell, was probably born around 1825. He owned coal and steamship company's and hotels. Lived in Greenwich Village. He could be an ancestor of your grandfather with the same name. Do you know anything about the family before him?
